B.B. Clarke Beach Park is open daily from 4:00 AM to 10:00 PM. While the beach does not have lifeguards on duty, swim ropes are provided to mark safe swimming areas. Restroom facilities and drinking water are available on-site for visitor convenience.
The park is named after Bascom Byron Clarke, a prominent Madison resident who lived from 1890 to 1929. It offers scenic views of Lake Monona and serves as a relaxing spot for picnics, leisure activities, and enjoying nature within the urban environment of Madison.
During the summer months, the beach is monitored for water quality by Public Health Madison & Dane County to ensure safe swimming conditions. However, visitors should note that alcohol consumption is prohibited in the park unless a special permit is obtained through the Parks Administrative Office.
