About Goodman Park in Madison

Goodman Park is a community park located along Wingra Creek Parkway in Madison, Wisconsin. The park spans 29.11 acres along Wingra Creek and serves as home to the popular Goodman Pool, Madison's first municipal swimming pool.

Named after benefactors Irwin and Robert Goodman, the park features a mix of recreational facilities and natural areas. A playground and small sun shelter provide spaces for families and picnickers. The park is also a frequent venue for softball leagues, with two lighted adult softball fields available.

Goodman Park connects to the wider Madison parks system via the adjacent Wingra Creek Bike Path. Its location near Quann Park and a Parks maintenance facility makes it part of a larger green space complex in the area. The park offers views of Wingra Creek and provides public shoreline access.

Open from 4:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily, Goodman Park serves as a year-round recreational space. In winter, an ice skating rink is set up, though no skate rentals are available on-site. The park provides drinking water for visitors but does not have permanent restroom facilities.
