Peterson Park

Petersen Park is a public recreational area located on the corner of Priest Drive and Southern Avenue in Tempe, Arizona. The park underwent significant renovations in 2021, transforming it into a modern and accessible community space.

The centerpiece of Petersen Park is its newly redesigned playground, which features a charming farm theme. This play area is specifically tailored for children aged 10 and under, providing a safe and engaging environment for younger visitors. The playground incorporates various elements that reflect its agricultural motif, including a windmill, tractor, and even a cow figure. Children can climb on hay stack-inspired structures to reach the top of the play equipment, which offers multiple slides and climbing opportunities.

One of the notable features of the playground is its rubber ground surface, which enhances safety and accessibility compared to traditional materials like sand or wood chips. The park also includes a separate toddler play structure adjacent to the main playground, ensuring that even the youngest visitors have an appropriate area to explore and play.
