About Jackson Park in Long Beach

Jackson Park is a small 3.1-acre park located just east of Orange Avenue in Long Beach, California. The park offers visitors a tranquil environment with beautiful landscaping and recreational facilities for families to enjoy.

Originally acquired by a private water company as early as 1903, Jackson Park became city property when the Water Department formed in 1911. The park's development was approved on August 16, 1966, and completed in 1968. It was later transferred from the Water Department to the Parks, Recreation and Marine department on May 1, 2000.

The park's south edge features a storm drain channel that was formerly Jackson Creek. In 1996, the playground was redeveloped using funds from the Los Angeles County Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond Act of 1992. More recently, the playground has been further improved to provide a better experience for visitors.

Jackson Park serves as a community-focused establishment, offering a range of recreational activities and green spaces for residents and visitors alike. Its compact size and well-maintained facilities make it an ideal spot for families looking for a peaceful outing or children seeking a place to play.
