Jefferson Square

Jefferson Square Park is a 5.6-acre green space located in the Western Addition neighborhood of San Francisco, California. The park is situated atop a hill, offering visitors picturesque views of the city skyline and downtown area, including City Hall.

Originally established in the early 1900s, Jefferson Square Park has a rich history. Following the devastating 1906 earthquake that ravaged much of San Francisco, the park served as one of the largest rehabilitation sites in the city. During this time, it provided shelter, food, clothing, and other essential supplies to displaced residents. The park returned to its original recreational purpose in 1917.
