About Regatta Park in Miami
Regatta Park is a 15-acre waterfront park located in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, Florida. Situated alongside Biscayne Bay, the park offers visitors scenic views of the water and the marina. It was developed on the former site of the Coconut Grove Convention Center, transforming the previously underutilized area into a vibrant public space.
The park features expansive green spaces, including an Expo Lawn and a Regatta Lawn, which provide ample room for various outdoor activities and events. A notable aspect of Regatta Park is its extensive tree coverage, with nearly 1,000 trees and palms, including both preserved existing vegetation and newly planted specimens.
Regatta Park serves as a connection point between the general public and the waterfront, offering a promenade for leisurely walks along the bay. The park also includes a multi-use path connector, facilitating easy movement throughout the area. For families, there is a dedicated children's play area within the park grounds.
Throughout the year, Regatta Park hosts several significant events, including the Sailing World Cup and the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, which attracts an estimated 120,000 visitors. The park's design and features make it a versatile venue for both large-scale gatherings and everyday recreational use.
