Designed by architect Kenneth Treister, Elizabeth Virrick Park serves as a vital recreational area for local residents. The park is named after Elizabeth Virrick, a poverty activist born in Winchester, Kentucky in 1897, who dedicated her efforts to improving living conditions in the area.

It houses the Virrick Branch of the Miami-Dade Public Library System, providing educational resources to the community. Elizabeth Virrick Park operates with extended hours to accommodate visitors. It is open from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Sunday, with slightly adjusted hours on weekends.
