About Southeast Clarke Park in Athens
Southeast Clarke Park is a spacious 135-acre public park located on the east side of Athens-Clarke County, Georgia. It is one of the largest parks managed by the Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department. The park offers a diverse range of recreational facilities and natural areas for visitors to enjoy.
The park features multiple athletic fields, including lighted multi-use fields and baseball fields, catering to various sports enthusiasts. For tennis and pickleball players, dedicated courts are available. Fitness enthusiasts and nature lovers can take advantage of the park's walking trails, which include both paved and natural surface paths.
Families with children will appreciate the two playgrounds within the park, including the impressive World of Wonder (WOW) Playground. Dog owners can enjoy the Wiggley Field Dog Park, which offers separate areas for off-leash play and is designed to minimize digging and erosion. Skateboarding enthusiasts will find the Skate Park of Athens, featuring a 14,000 square foot series of bowls and ramps designed by Tony Hawk.
