Lake Roland

Lake Roland Park is a sprawling 500-acre public park located in Baltimore County, Maryland, just outside the city limits. Centered around the 100-acre Lake Roland, a former reservoir, the park is celebrated for its diverse ecosystems, including wetlands, mature hardwood forests, meadows, and the rare serpentine barrens in the Bare Hills area. These barrens host endangered plant species and serve as an ecologically sensitive habitat. The park is part of the Lake Roland Historic District, which reflects its historical significance as part of Baltimore's first municipal water system.
