About Pageant Park in Bend
Pageant Park is a small public park located in Bend, Oregon, situated along the Deschutes River. The park occupies approximately 0.3 acres of land and is situated next to Harmon Park, across the river from Drake Park via a pedestrian bridge.
The park was acquired by the Bend Park and Recreation District in 1977 from the City of Bend. Its name commemorates the historic Bend Water Pageant, an event that was held annually from 1933 to 1965. The park was redeveloped in 1999 to enhance its features and accessibility.
Pageant Park offers visitors a tranquil riverside setting with views of the Deschutes River. The park features shaded areas with benches and tables, providing spots for relaxation and picnicking. An open lawn area allows for casual recreation and games. The park also includes flowering beds, adding color and natural beauty to the landscape.
One of the park's notable features is a small boat launch, allowing easy access to the river for kayakers and other small watercraft enthusiasts. The park's location makes it a convenient starting or ending point for river activities.
Accessibility is a consideration at Pageant Park, with two shared ADA parking stalls available. Additional parking is available along the street. The park is open daily from 5 am to 10 pm, allowing visitors to enjoy its amenities throughout the day.
