About Arnold Park in Fort Worth
Arnold Park is a small urban park located in the historic Samuels Avenue neighborhood of Fort Worth, Texas. Established in 1914, the park was named in honor of Major Ripley Arnold, the founder of Fort Worth.
The park's site originally contained twelve houses before it was converted into a public green space. In its early years, Arnold Park received amenities such as a tennis court and croquet grounds. Over time, the park has undergone various updates and improvements to serve the local community.
Situated near Pioneers Rest Cemetery, where Major Arnold was initially buried, Arnold Park provides almost an acre of recreational space for residents in the growing Samuels Avenue area. The park offers a mix of active and passive recreation opportunities, making it a valuable asset to the neighborhood.
In 2002, the park underwent renovations that included updates to its playground and tennis court, enhancing its appeal and functionality for visitors of all ages.
