Rogers Playfield

Rodgers Park is a community park located in Tacoma, Washington. Established in 2004, this 2.4-acre park was the first official off-leash dog park in the city. The park features a fully fenced off-leash area of approximately 1.5 acres, providing a safe space for dogs to run and play freely.

The park includes both open grassy areas and some tree cover, offering a mix of sunny and shaded spots for visitors and their canine companions. A drinking fountain is available for both humans and dogs, ensuring everyone can stay hydrated during their visit. For the comfort of pet owners, the park also includes a bench and shelter where they can rest while supervising their dogs.

In 2011, Rodgers Park was further enhanced with the addition of a community garden and updated play equipment, expanding its appeal to a wider range of community members. The community garden provides an opportunity for local residents to grow their own produce and flowers, fostering a sense of community engagement and environmental stewardship.

The park is open from half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset, allowing visitors to enjoy the space throughout the day. Its location in Tacoma makes it a convenient spot for local residents to exercise their dogs and socialize with other pet owners.
