88th Avenue Mini Park

88th Avenue Mini Park is a small urban park located in Oakland, California. The park covers an area of approximately 0.30 acres and serves as a local recreational space for the surrounding community. Originally built as a community garden in the early 1990s, it has since evolved into a full-fledged park with various amenities for visitors to enjoy.

In 2025, the park underwent significant renovations as part of a citywide mini parks beautification project. The $5 million project, funded by Caltrans' Clean California local grant program, aimed to improve and beautify nine mini parks across Oakland, including the 88th Avenue Mini Park. The renovations addressed issues such as graffiti, vandalism, vegetation overgrowth, and litter that had previously plagued the park.

The revitalized park now features resurfaced play areas, upgraded site furniture, and improved landscaping. New shade trees have been planted to provide a cooler and more comfortable environment for visitors. The park's security has been enhanced with improved lighting, fencing, and gates. These enhancements have significantly improved the park's appearance and functionality, making it a more inviting space for community use.
