Anderson Point Park

Anderson Point Park is a large public park located in east Raleigh, North Carolina. The park sits at the confluence of the Neuse River and Crabtree Creek, providing scenic views and access to these waterways.

The park features a variety of habitats including open fields, short and tall grass meadows, mixed pine and hardwood forest, and bottomland hardwood floodplain. This diversity of environments makes the park an excellent spot for wildlife viewing and bird watching. Over 90 bird species have been documented in the park.

A paved walking trail loops around the park for about 3/4 of a mile, providing an easy path for walking, jogging or biking. Along the trail are several covered swings where visitors can relax and take in views of the park. The trail also connects to the Neuse River Greenway Trail, allowing for longer excursions.

One of the park's most unique features is its stone terraced amphitheater, which has three grassy levels and can accommodate up to 300 people. While it does not have built-in seating or electrical systems, it provides a natural outdoor venue for small performances or gatherings.

The park includes both a large and small picnic shelter that can be reserved, as well as open fields suitable for recreational activities. A playground area offers options for children, including swings and climbing structures.

For those interested in history, the park contains the Anderson Family Homestead cottage, which was built in the early 1900s and can be rented for events. The park also provides access points for canoeing or kayaking on the Neuse River.
